Tiny Footprints Project - Baby Jacob

My second shoot for The Tiny Footprints project introduced me to the adorable baby Jacob and his beautiful mommy who was absolutely head over heels in love with Jacob.

Having your photos taken is hard work, man.

Jacob was very close to his release date when I was there, and he continued to do well so he did get to go home shortly after these photos.

I've heard he is still doing amazing and his mother sounds just as smitten with him.

Congrats to Jacob and his family for making it through the NICU!

Baby Aiva and family

All the way back in May (goodness, this year is going fast!) I got to meet this beautiful little lady and her family.

Sweet baby Aiva has grown so much since these photos! I know her grandma so I get frequent updates on her and her brothers.

Her brothers are just as adorable as Aiva - just not as teeny.

I love silly kid photos.  I think they like them too.  It makes photo sessions more fun for them.  Especially when they have to be super patient waiting for their newborn sister who needs many breaks for snacks and diaper changes.

Because I knew her grandma, we got lots of time to change up outfits and play and chat during down time.  Definitely some of my favorite people to spend a day with.

Aiva's aunt (I believe) made this mermaid outfit for her.  It was so adorable and only slightly too big for her at the time.  Newborns are always smaller than you remember. Aiva was around the size of my newborns and yet I can't remember feeling they were that small. . .

The Tiny Footprints Project

I was recently accepted as a photographer for The Tiny Footprints Project.

The Tiny Footprints Project is a group of photographers who are  matched with local families to offer their services free of charge to parents of premature babies living in the NICU.

The photographers capture the newborns earliest moments and are a part of the families precious beginnings.

Please share this information with friends and family to help spread the word so that we can make sure all babies that stay in the NICU (premie or not) have a chance to get professional photos taken.

See the flier below for information on how to request your TTFP session.

First Birthday Twin Cake Smash

I can be the Queen of Procrastination sometimes - and I was here.  I got to do this shoot a month ago and I'm finally sitting down to blog about it.  Shame shame.

I am so glad that my first cake smash photo shoot was with my friends' twin 1 year olds.  It has been a great year watching them grow.  It went by so fast for me, I can't imagine how fast it went for her and her husband!

But that's what babies do.  They grow faster than we can imagine and before we know it we have a kindergartener....a middle schooler....a high schooler (guess which one I have this year!).

Since I was lucky enough to also photograph this darling duo's 1st birthday party, I had access to the leftover decorations from that party and used it in their backdrop design.  I wish I had lowered the streamers, but I had placed them high to keep babies from tearing them down - an unfounded fear. I'm sure the next cake smash shoot I do the baby will want to have nothing to do with the cake and everything to do with the decorations...

I made the cupcakes - a carrot cupcake with spiced cream cheese frosting - and they loved them, but probably the frosting more than the cupcake.  Frosting just squishes between the fingers so nicely.  Baby boy was very free with his grins at me, but baby girl made me work for it - but goodness were her grins worth that work.  Look at that cheeky baby grin!

I'm looking to expand my portfolio soon with some Maternity and Family shoots, as well as Newborn shoots and will be offering a very limited number of portfolio building sessions at a discount.

The only requirements are that you must be comfortable with the images being used for promotional work (online, blog, Facebook, and in print).  That's it!

Send me an e-mail using my contact form (here) or a message on Facebook (here).

I look forward to working with you to create memories!

Baby and family photo shoot

Saturday I got to meet an adorable baby and her family.

3-month-old babies might be my favorite aged babies. Maybe.

Mom brought this rocking chair and I love it so much. I want one just like it.  She said she found it at a garage sale.  It looks like I need to go garage saling.

I am in love with this sweet family shot. I love how they are looking at each other; you can feel the love.

Such a happy baby.

Adoring Grandparents.  I actually get to work my other job with Grandma, and she is a great coworker.  One of the best coworkers.

Baby wasn't too happy about tummy time pictures and she rolled over (for the first time) trying to get out of it. I wish I had gotten that in images for them, but unfortunately I didn't.

Frilly bows and poofy skirts are the best.

And I can't wait for the family to see the rest of these photos.  I hope they love them as much as I do.

We enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Dawson Creek park in Hillsboro, Oregon.
